SWINDON captain Andy Staff is looking forward to a pressure free game as his side head to Marlborough tomorrow.

Staff admits his side don’t have much to play for in the remaining two games of the season with his team currently sitting in sixth place and his opponents just one place in front of them.

Despite the lack of pressure on his team, Staff still fully expects his players to try and finish as high as they can and ideally for him, they will also finish ahead of local rivals Marlborough and fourth-placed Purton.

“It’s a good chance to play some no pressure cricket. We aren’t playing for anything so we just want to finish as high as we can,” said the Swindon skipper.

“We know (Marlborough) are a good side, they’re only a place above us so it’s a good chance for us to try and get in front. It’s a bit of a local derby with them and Purton and there isn’t much between the three of us.”

Swindon will be without trio Cameron Baden, Steve Laggett and Douglas Baartman because they are on holiday.

“As a club we are looking really good at the moment, we have a few players out but that means we can try out a few of the chaps from the other teams.

“I’m expecting a decent game. Last time we played them they managed to get 180 so hopefully it won’t be as close as it was then.

“We have had some good games with them in the past, they bat well and bowl well too.”
