SWINDON head coach Sean Lynn is hoping to become the second Wiltshire team to beat Old Centralians in the space of a week.

Having fallen to a 19-13 defeat to Royal Wootton Bassett last weekend, Old Cents, who were demoted from National League Three South last season, play host to Swindon tomorrow.

However, Lynn is not underestimating the scale of the task at hand for his side but will head to Gloucester in confident mood.

“We’re just going to go there and see if we can cause an upset,” he said, ahead of the South West One East clash.

“They have just come down into the league and Wootton Bassett took them by surprise last week.

“I think they are finding their feet and they had a bit of a reality check last week.

“We are going to go there maybe as underdogs because it is down there and we’re just going to go with it.”

Swindon will be without centre Sam Williams, who is out until November with an injury, while Grady Wright is struggling with a neck injury and is a doubt for the weekend.

Lynn is hopeful that Connal Knott and Jordan Shepherd both return from injury and is looking to build on the performance from Swindon’s 26-15 defeat at home to Newbury Blues last weekend.

“We have got a tough three weeks,” he added. “We had Newbury at home, we’ve got Old Centralians away and then we have got Old Pats at home.

“We had a good game against Newbury. I asked for a reaction from the boys and I certainly saw that positive response, even though we didn’t get the result.

“That’s what I want from the boys now, just to see that positivity and build from there.

“All I am after is the performance and see if that can produce the result.

“We are usually strong with the good weather and it is tough because we have got these hard fixtures.

“We were really disappointed with our performance against Maidenhead but against Newbury, we had an improvement and we have just got to go on again now.”
