DEVIZES Ladies fell to a 19-8 loss in South West North Two at local rivals Westbury.
The reverse, Devizes’ first of the season, came despite a good start for the visitors with Denise Warbutton giving them the lead from a penalty.
Westbury took the lead when they crashed over for the opening try of the match and the hosts grabbed their second score just before the break.
The second half started in much the same way as the first, both sides were in each others’ 22 and either side looked like they could score the next try.
The Westbury pack were visibly tiring and Devizes put everything in to try and capitalise on this but it was Westbury who scored a third through a good backs move.
Devizes eventually got a score back through Emily Pratt, who sprinted down the line to touch down.
