DEVIZES Town threw away a 2-0 lead as they shared the spoils with Welton Rovers on Tuesday night.

Josh Brigham and Jordon Matthews put the visitors in the driving seat going into the break but it was an eventful game for Brigham as he missed a penalty towards the end of the first half before being sent off in the 93rd minute.

Darran Walters’ side looked like hanging on until Joe Garland struck twice in the final 10 minutes to snatch a draw.

Things went from bad to worse for Walters as Jamie Wallen was given a red card for an incident after the final whistle, which means he will be without his first-choice centre back pairing for Saturday’s game against Roman Glass St George.

Devizes have now gone eight games without a win and the Nursteed Road boss admits it is playing on their minds.

“It feels like we dropped another couple of points again. We played really well up until the 80th minute, where the goalkeeper has made a mistake,” said Walters.

“It let them back in the game and we were hanging on a bit in the last 10 minutes but overall, we dominated the game.

“In the last few games, we have played some of the best football we have played all season but we just can’t see games out at the moment.

“We are treating the games as cup finals. We are desperate for three points. We just aren’t getting what we deserve at the moment.”

Malmesbury Victoria were also in action on Tuesday as they hosted Ashton & Blackwell United at the Flying Monk Ground but were unable to make the most of an early advantage as they lost 2-1, despite Ed Wilkins handing them an early lead.

Corsham Town bounced back from last week’s frustrating defeat with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bishops Sutton on Saturday, Ben Pring the hat-trick hero, with Dan Harvey joining him on the scoresheet.

Chippenham Park’s remarkable upturn in form continued at the weekend as they picked up a 2-1 win at Wincanton Town , Harry Miles and Aaron Ledgister with the goals.

Strugglers Calne Town came out second-best as the bottom two sides met , with hosts Almondsbury UWE recording a 3-1 win.
