DEVIZES maintained their dominance over Dorset Dockers with a fourth successive triumph over the Verwood-based side to return to winning ways in Southern Counties South.

The Saddlebacks, searching for their first win in more than a month, struggled in attack during the early stages as the Dockers pummelled away at their try line before a break from Rory Brown relieved the pressure.

Brown then booted a penalty to give his side the lead and, as Dockers' error count increased, Devizes full-back Chris Barter took advantage to kick into space for wing Lewis Dodds to outsprint the defence for the try.

A sin-binning reduced Dockers' numbers and Dodds soon added a second try after a fine move from the backs.

But Devizes themselves were reduced to 14 by a yellow card for Luke Moore and Dorset took advantage to score a converted try of their own through Kingsley Agbo.

The Saddlebacks though raised their game in the second period, Sam Jones cutting through the defence to go over before, restored to full strength, Craig Bryant and Barter set up Seb Hutchings to give the scoring pass to Brown.

With Barter in the bin, Dockers burst through for a converted try but the visitors also suffered a further sin-binning and from a huge scrum drive, number eight Bryant dotted down.

Three further scores sealed victory, Mark Carter going through, replacement Charlie Green jinking over and Dodds capitalising on another error for his hat-trick score, that Green converted.

Marlborough's return to form continued with a third successive win, 35-34 at Blandford.

Marlborough's return to form continued with a third successive win, 35-34 at Blandford, clinched their triumph with the final kick of the match.

The visitors put on good early pressure and took a 10-0 lead via a penalty from Garth Bari and a try following a flowing backs move with Bari coming into the line from full back to finish it off and convert.

Blandford immediately responded by converting a penalty from in front of the posts but after 15 minutes Michael Sims gathered a loose ball just inside the Blandford 22 and sped over in the corner for Marlborough.

The home side again responded, this time with a converted try but back came Marlborough, man of the match Sam Gouldbourn charging down and scoring under the posts, Bari adding the extras.

Blandford added a penalty from distance, then scored a converted try from a driving maul before Bari added a Marlborough penalty before the break

The second half saw Marlborough defending early Blanford pressure. Jake Williams was off injured and James Clancy on.

There was no score in second half until the hour mark, Avenai Cakaunitavuki breaking two tackles to score under the posts and James Clancy converted with Bari down with an injury.

Roared on by home support, Blandford hit back with two tries to lead 24-32 with a few minutes remaining.

But Gouldbourn again won the restart and Marlborough earned a 79th-minute penalty that Bari converted to snatch victory.
