SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is hoping his side can keep up their recent run of form when they travel to Evesham United.

After failing to win a game in February, Supermarine are now on track for a perfect March after five consecutive wins.

The most recent came at the weekend where Webb’s troops came from behind to beat Bideford 4-1 at home.

That result means Marine are just one place and five points behind their midweek opponents Evesham, who occupy the last play-off spot.

“We are playing a team who are directly above us. It is a massive game and we need to try to keep this winning run going,” said the Marine manager “Something from the game is important but it’s not over, even if we weren’t to go there and win, but we certainly couldn’t be going in better form.

“We are in a good place. All we are saying to the players is to try and win the next game.”

While he refused to label the game as a must-win, Webb admits coming away with a result would do his side the world of good ahead of the final run-in.

Evesham go into the game on the back of some good form themselves as they have won their last three, conceding just once.

“If they win, they go eight points clear. If we win, it goes to two points, so the game is massive.

“They’ve got some tough games to come but so do we. We have to play Tiverton and some of the top sides.

“Their run-in is probably more tricky than ours. We spoke about it after the game on Saturday; what we need to do.

“If we were to go there and win, we will bring them to within two points.

“They’ve been in the top five all season on merit because they are a very good outfit. It would be nice to get something but a point wouldn’t be a disaster.”

Joe Selman remains a doubt for Marine after he was substituted in the 20th minute last weekend due to a tight hamstring.
