LECHLADE captain Freddie Martin knows that his side will have to put in a good all-round performance if they are to topple reigning West of England Premier League champions Bath tomorrow.

The Manor Ground men head to North Parade looking to pick up their second win in Premier One following their opening-day success over Bedminster.

Since facing fellow top flight new boys, Lechlade have faced a stern test of their credential after facing a Corsham side that finished third last year and a Potterne team that were a place below in fourth.

Martin’s side came unstuck at Corsham’s Station Road before rain halted the game against Potterne last weekend.

And with the team that topped the rest awaiting Lechlade, the 21-year-old captain is excited by the challenge.

“It is going to very tough against Bath,” Martin said. “They have always been a very strong side.

“But it is exciting that we can go there and give them a good game.

“I know they lost to Clevedon the other week, but they are another strong team as well.

“What we have to make sure we do is click with both the bat and ball.

“We haven’t done that yet this season and that is something we need to address.

“If we can get off to a good start with the ball and the bat then we will have a good chance.”

Lechlade will welcome back former Worcestershire academy paceman Chris Harwood, while Harvey Jupp returns to the side.

However, Martin’s side are without spinner Jock Jamieson-Black and James Palmer as they are playing in a memorial match at Cheltenham College.
