WILTSHIRE slipped to a second successive loss in the Unicorns Championship as Devon sealed a six-wicket win at South Wilts this afternoon.

The contest was evenly poised as play resumed on the final day this morning, with the visitors on 88-2 as they chased 281 for victory.

All seemed to be going well for Wiltshire as they made a couple of early inroads, with Joe King and Jacob Lintott removing Matthew Thompson and Matthew Golding respectively as Devon slipped to 112-4.

However, that brought visiting captain Josh Bess and his brother Zac together at the crease, and the duo swiftly set about taking the game away from Wiltshire.

Devon skipper Josh Bess plundered a rapid unbeaten 90, with Zac Bess also in no mood to hang around in his 75 not out, as their unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 161 took the visitors past the winning post just after lunch, finishing on 283-4.

Wiltshire now have just one win from four games in the Western Division in 2017 and will hope for a response when they resume their season on July 30 when they host Cheshire.
