SWINDON Supermarine’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie at struggling Gosport Borough tomorrow is all about attitude, insists boss Dave Webb.

The visit of the Evo-Stik League South West side to their Hampshire hosts, who are struggling at the foot of the Premier Division, seems the prime candidate for a cup giant-killing, but Webb is far too wise a head to fall into that trap as his men aim to maintain their own unbeaten record this season.

Borough have lost seven from seven in the league and the Webbswood Stadium chief said: “They’ve obviously had a poor start and been relegated into the division above us from Conference South.

“The surprising thing is that it’s the same manager and the majority of the players are the same, but the only game they’ve won was in the FA Cup against Bridgwater in the last round so it’s ‘one of them.’ “We’ve had a great start and are unbeaten and they’ve had a poor start but it’s the FA Cup and we have to ignore everything that has gone on so far and prepare like a team that is high in their division.

“We have to make sure we go there and go about what we do well and forget everything that has gone before.’’ Marine are without the holidaying Ash Taylor tomorrow, while striker TJ Bohane will be missing until next month with broken fingers.

“We can’t go there, in any way, shape or form, underestimating a team that is in a higher league because it’s a big gap,’’ added Webb.

“The one thing I have to try and install in my players is ‘don’t go there and think you’re going to have an easy afternoon because it’s not going to be like that.

“They (Gosport) are going to be trying to show a sign to the manager that they can turn things around and they’ll see us, from a lower division, as an opportunity to do that.’’ Also in the FA Cup, Chippenham Town make the trip to Southern League outfit Weymouth.
