NORTH Swindon WMC registered their first win of the Swindon & District League season at the weekend by sweeping Brockhill United to one side in emphatic fashion.

Kray Dunn got four, while Jason Hodson netted twice, as Jamie Watts and Lee Cutler could only manage solitary efforts.

Dion Titcombe put in a commendable effort for the home side but his hat-trick was in vain as Danial Ferguson’s troops were 8-3 winners away from home.

Elsewhere in Division One, Haydon Wick and Moredon played out a well-contested 2-2 draw. Louis Sampson and Kasper Molenda notched for the former, with Adam Law and Tom Goodey were on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Ruby Removals continued their impressive start to the league campaign with a convincing 8-2 home win over New Town All Stars.

Jason Milhench, Joe Deyager and Todd Mears all scored, but the lion’s share went to Neil Mitcham, who got three, and Louis Wollen with a double.

Swindon AFC succumbed to their second defeat in as many weeks as they were comfortably dispatched by Chiseldon.

Jim Davies, Jamie Durup and Jamie Vaughan all scored in the 3-0 win, which has seen them move up to second in the league standings.

Highworth Reserves also claimed three points following their 2-1 win over Village Inn. Kevin Murphy had equalised for Village but saw his goal cancelled out as the visitors pinched the points thanks to Liam Wilkinson and Brandon Fenwick’s goals.

In the Premier Division, Tawny Owl reigned supreme as they snatched a 4-0 win over FC Dorcan.

Chris Hughes, Jack Allan were both on target, as was Lewis Waldon, who recorded a double in their third win of the season.

Morgan Watts, Oliver Armstrong and Jamie Pidgeon, who got two, were all on the scoresheet for Wroughton Reserves, but they were held 4-4 by Bakers Arms. Arran Northcott and Blaine Fitzgerald’s goals and Ashton Glover’s double sealed a share of the points for the visitors.

Wheatsheaf put in a five-star performance to see off Swindon Supermarine 5-3. Charlie Gillet bagged two, while Nathan Cooper and Sam Bradfield also notched. Mark Siaw, Daniel Harry and Cameron Shrubb netted for the hosts.

Ashton Keynes also scored five this weekend. Steve Andrew and Nick Gregory both got two, with Fredd Gentil getting the fifth to secure a 5-2 triumph at home to Ramsbury.

The weekend’s lowest scoring game was between Swindon Centurians and Stratton Juniors, who had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Elliot Pether and Ryan Major scored respectively.
