FROME Town produced an excellent, hard-working team performance that frustrated table-topping Kings Lynn Town and might have snatched the victory late on.

The home side looked the more likely to open the scoring with Darren Jefferies clean through and just robbed by Alex Street in the 10th minute.

Jon Davies was then set up for a shot in the 25th minute that was just blocked, but as the half progressed, Kings Lynn started to warm to their task but generally failed to trouble the home defence.

Kings Lynn had a goal disallowed in the 48th minute as Leon Mettam was adjudged offside after a free kick, but they then started to look much more like a side at the top of the table, generally dominating possession and territory.

But the home defence were well up to their task, and apart from a downward header hitting the base of the post in 73rd minute, Frome were never really troubled and could perhaps have won it late on as Jefferies shot just the wrong side of the post after a mazy run into the box.
