CRICKLADE Youth’s Joe Hilliard ran up a personal milestone as the North Wilts League programme went ahead in largely horrendous playing conditions.

Hilliard scored his 100th goal for the club in their 4-1 win over Greenmeadow Youth B in Under 14 Division Two.

He went into the game on 98 goals, but Hilliard’s double plus a strike from Callum Parker and an own goal saw Cricklade lead 4-0 at half time, after playing their best football of the season. Elsewhere in the division, Shrivenham & Watchfield Royals notched their best win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Highworth Juniors.

The Royals started with three goals in the first 10 minutes, scored by Adam Bird, Chris Boyd and Liam Tudway. In the second half, the Royals managed to score two more with Bird claiming his second and Drew McHenry completing the win.

Under 16 Division One

Highworth Town Juniors continue to climb the table with a 2-0 win at Lydiard Youth.

Danny Starling and Sam Slater scored for the vistors in the first half. Lydiard battled well but were unable to find a way past the solid Highworth defence.

In a game of two halves, Wroughton Juniors raced into a 2-0 lead by half time against Shaw, after goals from Dave Southby and Dom Gordon. In the second half Shaw dominated from start to finish but the Wroughton keeper pulled off some excellent saves to secure all three points, with Ross Lowe the only scorer for Shaw and the game finished 2-1.

Under 16 Division Two

Wootton Bassett Town B prevailed with a 6-1 win over AFC Swindon. Bassett led 1-0 at half time, through a strike by Jacob Hayden, and added a further five goals in the second half through Hayden again, Danny Hale, Joe Shepherd, Brad Hooper and Josh Morse, before conceding a consolation late in the game.

Under 14 Division One

Tetbury Town gave unbeaten Greenmeadow Youth A a good game but it ultimately went with the form book.

Greenmeadow’s Liam Puffitt broke the deadlock with an accurate 20-yard strike, before Connor Waldon made it 2-0 before half time.  The lead was increased with a header and a penalty from Jack Allen, while Waldon completed another hat-trick as Greenmeadow pulled clear.

Under 13 Division One

FC Abbey Meads and Highworth Town Juniors could not be separated in a six-goal thriller.

Abbey Meads started the scoring with a nice chip from Juris French, before Harvey Barrow added a second with a good free-kick.

Highworth pulled one back before the interval and then struck twice more in the second period to take the lead. But Abbey Meads fought back with an excellent goal from Harry Bidwell.

Under 13 Division Two

Croft Juniors A took an early lead against Eldene Rangers.

Eldene kept going and after a great run from Mabick Thapa the ball found Liam Clark who put it away to bring the game level.

Croft continued to make the most of their chances and went in at half time 3-1 up.

Goals from Jack Scarrott and Mabick Thapa kept Eldene in the game, but it was Croft who finished the game 4-3 winners. The Croft goals were scored by Matt Sprules (2), Alex Grant and Oliver Daglish.

Under 13 Division Three

Wanborough beat Swindon Soccer Skills 11-0 with goals from Bradley Mitchell (3), Alex Mitchell (2), Ben Peapell (2), Gareth Hook (2), John Reeves and Keilan Davies.

 

Under 12 Division Two

Croft Juniors found themselves a goal down early on against Blunsdon Colts, but responded well with goals from Baks Jammeh (4), James Sims (3), Brad Pearce and Gabriel Benony to run out 9-1 winners.

Under 12 Division Three

A sluggish start cost Shaw dearly as they ultimately went down 7-1 to GESS in a great game. Shaw found themselves three goals behind after the first 10 minutes and never recovered. Shaw managed to pull a goal back through Michael Doust before half time but were outplayed by GESS, whose goals came from Chris Austin (3), Chris Halliday, Kennedy Gallagher, Adam Bright and Charlie Fox-Saunders.

Under 11 County Cup

BRINKWORTH Cats A went ahead in the second half of their trip to Chippenham Town when Jacob Botterill scored a fantastic free kick, followed closely by Nathan Groom with a splendid shot from outside the box.  Chippenham came back scoring a goal, however the Cats scored one more with a lovely lofted shot from Jack Skyrme to win 3-1.

FC Abbey Meads produced a superb performance to beat Melksham Park, 9-1.  The tone for the match was set with the first Abbey Meads’ goal which came after a sequence of slick passes before Charlie Bridger slid in bravely for a powerful finish.  Further goals came from Mikey Ejsmont (2), Callum Mathews (2) and one each for Tyler Johnson, Daniel West, Matthew Jones and William Richardson.

Cricklade and Trowbridge Wanderers fought out a closely-contested match, with the visitors going through 3-1 - Gary McDonald scoring the Cricklade consolation.   Highworth Town H made the long journey back from Amesbury Juniors in buoyant mood after a 6-2 win.

Highworth played the first half up the slope against the wind and Amesbury took an early lead. The visitors levelled through Reece Snowden only for Amesbury to quickly restore their advantage.

Highworth came back with a cool finish from Liam Hallaways and Tom Smith then put them in front for the first time with a brave header.

The second half was all one way traffic and Snowden went on the score three more to make it a comfortable win.

Lydiard Youth A came from a goal down at half time to win 3-1 against FC Chippenham Youth A, courtesy of two substitutes - William Thorne scored two and Jake Muncaster the other to send Lydiard into the next round.

Under 11 Central Division

Brinkworth Cats dominated the first half against Penhill Allstars but failed to score. Penhill then took an early lead in the second half and Jack Fletcher equalised for Cats.

Penhill scored a lovely long-range effort late on to seal victory.

Under 10 West Division

Ramsbury showed determination against Robins to emphasise why they are the division’s leaders, coming back from 1-0 down to win 4-1.  Robins’ captain Alex Gregory scored from the penalty spot to get the Robins started but they could not hold on.

Shaw A beat Wanborough 3-1. A clever free-kick, straight from the training ground, resulted in Jonathan Hook’s goal for Wanborough.

Under 10 South Division

Shaw B came away victorious with a 6-2 win against South Cerney B.

Shaw went behind at the start, yet pulled it back with a couple of beautiful goals each from Sean Robson and Zach Ifill, helping the team to their first three points of the season. The other scorers for Shaw were Kemal Omur and Callum Bragg.

Pewsey Vale went home victorious from their match against Brinkworth Cats, after three goals without reply in the first half and eight in the second despite some excellent reflex saves from the Brinkworth keeper, Aaron Bryant.

Under 10 North Division

Lydiard Youth went in front against the run of play versus Greenmeadow Youth, but goals either side of half time by Matthew Penella-Lach and Jordan Smith secured the win for Greenmeadow.

Liden Community A stalled leaders White Horse in a 1-1 draw.

Callum Street put Liden ahead but the visitors got their equaliser before the break.

Blunsdon Colts picked up their first points of the season in a thrilling 3-2 win at Hungerford Town, with two goals from Owen Smith and one from Ellis Whitington.

Under 10 Central Division

Ferndale Rodbourne eased past South Swindon 6-0. Harry Skinner netted the first for Ferndale, before the provider turned goal scorer, as Andrew Hunt netted the second.

George Allen scrambled his first of the season and Joshua Iles netted a second-half hat-trick.

Under 9 West Division

After finding themselves 1-0 down at half time Wroughton Juniors fought back in the second half against Highworth Town Juniors, with goals from Brandon Duddy, Brad Sealy and Craig Sully, to win 3-1.

Lydiard Youth A stay top after beating Wickham Wanderers 5-1.

Ewan Wykeham-Martin scored three and set up two for Thomas Miller.

Wootton Bassett Town A overcame a very spirited performance from Stratton Juniors A, winning 12-2, with four goals from Tyler Fitchett, hat-tricks from both Euan Burke and Harrison Russ, and single efforts from Ryosuke Totsuka and Jordan Taylor. 

Under 9 South Division

Ferndale Rodbourne B saw off Lydiard Youth B, 5-1.

Harry Kearns’ hat-trick put Ferndale three up, Lydiard Youth got back into the game with a second-half penalty from Charlie Emmerson, but Ferndale completed a fine team performance with further goals from Ryan Gregory and Joshua Blackmore.

Wootton Bassett Town B lost by the odd goal in three to Stratton Juniors B, with Beckham Hulbert their goalscorer.  

Under 9 Central Division

Highworth Town Juniors went ahead against Pewsey Vale, with two goals from Adam Robbins. Pewsey pulled a goal back, before Highworth scored two quick, well-worked goals through Adam Robbins and Ethan Casey.

Swindon Rangers kept up their free-scoring start to the season with an 11-2 win away at Wanborough.

Rangers started brightly with a quick goal from Luke Haines, before Toby Berwick equalised almost immediately. But Leon Morrison then bagged a treble for Rangers, with Haines taking his tally to four and two each were added by Joe Tyson and Joe Fenton. William Crisp scored the other goal for Wanborough.
