Marine could face Trophy holders

SUPERMARINE have all the motivation they need for tonight’s FA Trophy second round re-run at Uxbridge - as they eye up a potential clash with the holders in the next round.

Mark Collier’s men saw their original tie in Middlesex at the weekend fall foul of the cold snap but, just three days later, Marine are raring to go in the biggest fixture in the club’s history.

And, with a third round tie away at either Blue Square North outfit Stalybridge Celtic or current holders and Blue Square Premier big-boys Ebbsfleet United the prize, the Southern League minnows require no more incentive to pick up another away win.

Supermarine boss Collier said: “It’s a great draw for the club and you would like to think the boys will be looking at it as motivation for beating Uxbridge.

“We wouldn’t have any issues going somewhere like Ebbsfleet, but first we have to get past Uxbridge, which will be a very difficult game.

“It’s strange because we don’t have any problems playing away and have only lost once in the league away from home this season. So we’ll take any games, be it home or away.

“Going to Uxbridge we’re probably not under as much pressure because we don’t have to win the game there - we know that a draw will bring them back to our place where we would be confident as well.”

Collier has no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s game and will travel with the same squad that had been named on Saturday.

And following a team workout at a local gym over the weekend, he insists his side are fully prepared for the task ahead of them.

“It was disappointing that the game was off on Saturday, but we would prefer to play on a decent pitch rather than one which is a bit of a leveller,” said Collier.

“We know what to expect from them - they play the way they play and that’s their game.

“We will have a game plan which we will stick to, and the lads are all in good spirits about continuing this fantastic cup run.

“We’ll take a decent following there and hopefully come back having progressed to the next round.”

COME ON MARINE!! Swindon's other team. Uxbridge is not too far away to travel, so hopefully there will be that good following that manager Mark suggests?

Best of luck lads, we'll be there to cheer you on!
