ANGLING: Giles makes it look easy


ROGER Giles drew peg one in the first leg of the Tench Cup held at Cokes Pit on the Ashton Keynes club water.

In the opening match of the season, Giles drew the slightly unfancied peg one, last year’s winning peg from the same match and in the first half he landed five and lost five tench before eventually weighing in eight of them for a comfortable match win of 48lb 3ozs.

Anthony Nash had three tench for 13lb 4ozs for runners-up spot and Lee Chilley also had three for 13lb 3ozs for third. Fourth went to Mick Webb with 10lb 2ozs.
