WOOTTON Bassett B were crowned under 15 winners in the annual Highworth Juniors Six-a-side tournament.

Twelve teams battled it out in bright and sweltering sunshine as this year’s competition kicked off on Friday afternoon at Highworth Town Football Club’s recreation ground, and it was another great success.

Highworth Town Juniors A, Highworth Town Juniors B, Highworth Town Juniors C, Abbeymeads A, Abbeymeads B, Old Town A, Old Town B, Croft A, Croft B and Greenmeadow more than played their part as the under 15 category served up some exciting games for the watching spectators.

But it turned out to be a one-club final as Wootton Bassett A and Wootton Bassett B dominated proceedings as they saw off their respective opponents to create a path to the final where they locked horns.

Both Wootton Bassett outfits played out a tight encounter in which they were unable to be separated during normal time.

And so the final went to the spot and the lottery of penalty kicks, with Wootton Bassett B triumphing over their club-mates to lift the trophy.
