Talented Trowbridge gymnast Francesca Fox has been celebrating success at home and abroad.

The Matravers School pupil, who is coached by GB senior squad member Sarah Binding at the City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, impressed in the Great Britain Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Stoke on Trent.

Francesca competed on the first day in the all round competition and was placed second, which exceeded all expectations.

She performed on all four pieces – hoop, ball, ribbon and rope – with precision which put her five marks ahead of third place.

The top six on each piece then went on to compete the following day.

Francesca produced consistent routines and took the hoop title, which was completely unexpected.

She also took silver in the ball and ribbon and was placed fourth on rope.

It was a very long weekend but extremely successful so all her hard work paid off.

Then Francesca flew to Gibraltar to compete in the International competition.

She had a fantastic event and came home with eight trophies.

She won the all-round competitor and claimed every individual title – ball, hoop, rope and ribbon.

Again her performances were beautifully executed and consistent.

Francesca was then awarded a special trophy that the judges hand to the junior or senior who, in their opinion, was the most exciting and graceful gymnast.

There was also a team award which she won alongside teammates Evie Longshaw (junior) and Kate Moseley (U10).

The trophy was so large it had to stay in Gibraltar but they were given a smaller cup to bring home with them.
