EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Jack Sawyer had a day to remember in his first-ever match of the summer holiday series held on Jubilee Lake.

Under the helpful guidance of his older brother, Jack caught three tench, a crucian, skimmer and a bag of roach for a winning weight of 9lb 2oz in the three-hour evening match.

B Housman caught all bream from the island peg for a runners-up weight of 7lb1oz.

Third went to Miss L Chandler with 6lb 6oz made up of tench and crucians.

In the Wednesday club match this week young Kerry McKay showed his dad and his mates that he has the lake at Bourton under his spell, bagging 140lb of carp to see off nearest rival, Alan Clark on 94lb. Dad McKay was third with 84lb and fourth went to John Williams with 73lb.
