TROWBRIDGE potter Stephen Lee booked himself a place in the televised stages of a tournament for the first time this season by winning his qualifying match for the Pukka Pies UK Championship at Prestatyn.
The Wiltshire cueman, 35, got the better of stablemate Robert Milkins in an all-west country battle in Wales to secure a first round spot at the main event in Telford, which gets underway on the BBC on Saturday.
Lee, who missed out on television time in both the Masters and the Grand Prix earlier this season, made two centuries in the first session, 129 and 110, against Milkins, whi is part of the same Gloucester-based OnQ management group.
Lee looked in danger of defeat when he trailed 7-5, but he then won three scrappy frames before finishing in style with a run of 90.
