DAVE Turner was left bemused as Wootton Bassett Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Clanfield in a “strange game” on Saturday.
“We completely dominated possession but never looked like scoring – even when we did,” said the Bassett boss.
“We didn’t have that bit of quality that we’ve shown in recent weeks but we’re really happy at the moment because we’ve only lost once in 18 games.”
Andy Philpott gave Bassett the lead midway through the first-half before Clanfield equalised on 70 minutes.
With title rivals Purton not in action and Slimbridge being held to a goalless draw by Letcombe, Bassett remain in third place, just three points behind league leaders Cheltenham Saracens.
