WAYNE Thorne admits his side are playing “cup finals’’ between now and the end of the season.
Saturday’s defeat at highflying Welton Rovers left the Conigre outfit still in the thick of the relegation battle, with Wiltshire rivals Calne and Corsham for company in the bottom three.
And there is a Wiltshire Senior Cup semi-final clash against Laverstock & Ford next Tuesday evening at Warminster to consider.
Thorne said: “We’ve got a busy period coming up next week with two league games and the cup semi-final in between. But the players know that and will be prepared for it.’’ Thorne conceded his side got what they deserved at Welton, although he was unimpressed by some of the officiating on display.
Town host Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday, defending their Conigre base which has not been breached since before Christmas.
