WESTBURY welterweight Aaron Fox will make his professional boxing debut in Trowbridge next Friday.
The 18-year-old, studying hard landscaping at Wiltshire College, will take on Earl’s Court’s Bheki Moyo on the Civic Hall bill.
“I’m feeling really good about it,” said Fox, who lives in Westbury Leigh.
“I’ve trained in Trowbridge ever since I started boxing three years ago and it’s the perfect place to go pro.
“It’ll be harder than the fights I’ve had at amateur level and I’m a bit nervous but looking forward to it at the same time.
Mark Kent, who coaches the rookie, said: “We’ve been looking at him turning professional for almost a year now and we think he’s got the talent to succeed. Aaron is an exciting fighter and he doesn’t like to step back much.
Fox will join Contender stablemates including highly-rated Nick Blackwell, of Trowbridge, and Melksham’s Liam Richards on the Friday night card.
“It’s great for a small town like Westbury to have a professional sportsman and it helps to put the area on the map,” added Kent.
