Swindon Town 1, Colchester 0

IFFY Onuora's Boxing Day delight was spread all over his face as he embraced his players at the final whistle.

The manager felt Rory Fallon's last-gasp winner was no less than Town deserved against high-flying Colchester United.

He said: "We were a bit nervous early on in the game but did okay in the first half.

"But I thought we bossed the second half. I just felt we got better and better but thought we might have to settle for a point as the game moved into the last few moments.

"The goal was the icing on the cake at the end. It's a great ball in from Hameur and a great finish from Rory.

"I didn't pull any punches before the game.

"I told the lads they were playing a decent side with several threats.

"I said we'd have to be at our best to match them. Well, we've been at our best for long periods of the game and I loved the way we controlled the game at times in the second half.

"I thought we were thoroughly convincing winners in the end, even though it's just the one goal."

As a striker himself, Onuora hailed Ashan Holgate's impact after making his full debut but was particularly glowing about his defenders.

He said: "The best thing I can say about Ashan is that he didn't look out of place. He's done well.

"But there were good performances all over the pitch. I thought the back four were fantastic.

"They're now playing as a unit. They're all decent players and are pressing as a four, working as a four."
