STRATTON saw off Wanborough by 70 runs in Division One of the Monahans Midweek Cricket League.

Ajay hit a fluent 49 not out for Stratton with able support coming from Walters and Woolard, who each scored 27, as Stratton reached 149-3.

In reply, Wanborough captain Mannion led from the front but with little behind him his efforts were futile.

Wanborough were all out for 79, as McDonald claimed four wickets, Dunn three and Watts and Mathias two apiece.

In Division Two, Lawn maintained their momentum with a win over struggling Haydon Wick.

The Wick were bowled out for 86 with captain Phil Anderson making a commendable 44 not out. Gignesh and McGinley with three wickets each were the destructive force for Lawn.

Lawn subsequently cruised to victory, only losing one wicket as they reached the target of 87. Chauhan top-scored with 44.

Purton A keep Lawn under pressure as they also won having initially set Intel a target of 147.

Joe Dunn and Adam Woolford were too much for the Intel batsmen and they tumbled to 39 all out. Dunn took 6-17 and Woolford 4-22.

Hanif (66 not out) led Sevenfields to 170-3 against Wroughton, who made 132-7 in reply as they fell 38 runs short. Foreman recorded figures of 3-34 for Sevenfields.

In Division Three, high-flying Motorola cut down Lydiard Millicent, restricting them to 141 as Aitken hit a fine 62. Ali Khan took 4-36.

Motorola’s Mark Solway cracked 59 and Khan blasted a sharp 37 to see Motorola over the line with three overs to spare.

Teenager Mike Ranger starred for Wroughton Wranglers as he first took three wickets to help stop Anchor on 132.

The 16-year-old then accumulated an excellent 42, which with the help of Smith, saw Wroughton to the win.

Elsewhere, RWE NPower managed 130 against Ashbury, and that was enough for victory as the latter outfit were all out for 108. Abbott took three Ashbury wickets.
