NORTH WILTS YOUTH LEAGUE: Matty's quick off the mark

IN Under 12 Division Two, Matty Phillips scored within the first minute of his debut for Blunsdon Colts in a 1-1 draw against Liden B, as the new North Wilts Youth League season kicked off with a bang at the weekend.

Elsewhere in the division, Hungerford Town Juniors beat Wootton Bassett Town 6-2, Pewsey Vale overcame Shrivenham and Watchfield 2-1, Highworth Town Juniors H were sunk 2-0 by Ramsbury Juniors and Shaw A toppled Ferndale Rodbourne A 7-1.

Under 16 Division Two

Hungerford Town started off their campaign with a 3-0 win over Ramsbury Juniors.

Midway through the first half a good through-ball from Teague Bond set up Hungerford captain Lee Franklin to score his first goal of the season.

The second half kicked off with a bang as Keenan Dundas connected well to score a cracker. The game was finished off when Franklin got his second and Hungerford’s third.

Shrivenham & Watchfield beat Greenmeadow 5-2.

Despite only being able to field 10 players, Greenmeadow more than held their own and equalised twice through Mason Carter and Karl Lewington. However, in the closing stages, after both teams were reduced to 10 men, Shrivenham ran out easy winners.

Under 15 Division One

Wroughton Youth started their league title defence win a 4-0 win against Stratton Youth. Jose Rodrigues opened the scoring after good work from Tyler Rudman.

Wroughton then squandered chances through Christy Millar and Rudman before Nana Osei scored twice, and Will Miller wrapped up the scoring, smashing home after a through ball from Osei.

Under 15 Division Three

Kingshill shot out of the gates at the start of the season with a 3-1 victory over Penhill Knights.

George Firth and George Gray were on the scoresheet for the home side.

Croft Juniors B started their season with a fine 8-1 home win over Wanborough Juniors. Liam Flanagan scored a hat-trick, with two apiece from Patrick Norris and Shanan Ward. Mitchell Sabat completed the scoring.

Under 14 Division One

Swindon Rangers made a good start to the new season, overcoming Croft Juniors 4-1 away from home.

Debutants Aiden Miller and Antonio Gerrish got a goal apiece, whilst Jack Steed and Ollie Hunt made sure of the points.

Under 14 Division Three

In a close game, Shrivenham & Watchfield and Old Town shared the points after a 3-3 draw, with Old Town scoring through Bradley Keene (2) and Scott Brown.

Under 13 Division One

Newly-formed Swindon Rangers Under 13s managed a win on their league debut against Highworth. Henry Jones opened the scoring early on before Dan Wheeler added another in the second half and Alex Dinsmore sealed the points.

Abbey Meads opened up with a 7-1 defeat of Lydiard Youth. Jake O'Neill got the first from the halfway line, whilst second-half hat-tricks were completed by Lewis Newman and Max Lloyd.

Under 13 Division Two

There were 11 goals shared in the meeting between Greenmeadow Youth P and Highworth Town Juniors I, with Greenmeadow winning 8-3.

James Webb (2), Toby Bridges, Kieran Locke, Liam Mundy (3) and George Lamb got the goals.

Under 13 Division Three

Greenmeadow D won 7-1 at South Cerney B with Jack Vertannes bagging a hat-trick and Callum McClean, Steven Mapstone, Owain Davies and Daryl Mapstone getting one each.

Blunsdon Colts eased to a 4-1 win at Brinkworth Cats B. Yezan Amawi got the first for Blunsdon, before Billy Gibbs got the remaining three.

Under 11 Division One

Malmesbury took the lead on three occasions against Croft Juniors A, only to be pegged back each time as the game ended 3-3.

Highworth Town Juniors H got off to a winning start, beating Stratton Youth 3-1.

Harry Ayres managed a brace, and Josh Windsor also scored for Highworth.

Greenmeadow Youth strolled past Liden Community 11-1.

Scorers for Greenmeadow were Lee Giles (2) Oliver Mathews (3), Lee Murphy (3) and Sam Jones (3).

Under 11 Division Two

Purton Youth B and Shrivenham & Watchfield played out a 0-0 stalemate.

Under 11 Division Three W

Wanborough Juniors sneaked past FC Calne B 4-2 on the opening day.

Wanborough took an early lead through Toby Berwick, before two Franc Lofy goals gave the hosts a half-time lead.

However, second-half strikes from Kaiden Cinquegrani, Joseph Maskelyne and Jahed Ali completed the turnaround.

Chiseldon lost 8-2 to Highworth Town Juniors T, goalscorers for Chiseldon were Josh Baker and Max Pocock Wootton Bassett Town opened up their season with a 7-0 victory over Croft Juniors B. Bassett's goalscorers were Declan Cox with a hat-trick, Callum Bridges, James Evans, Lewis Ward and an own goal.

Under 11 Division Four

Ferndale Rodbourne got off to a great start with a 6-0 win over Tetbury Town.

Callum Ratcliffe claimed a superb hat-trick, whilst Harry Kearns, Lewis Dobedoe and Joshua Blackmore completed the scoring for Ferndale.

Under 10 Division One

Swindon Rangers ran out 5-1 winners at Lydiard Youth. Charlie Lawrence (2), Mitchell Cremin, Dan Reynolds and Joe Tyson snatched goals for Rangers. FC Calne A thrashed Stratton Youth 8-0.

Under 10 Division Two

Swindon Rangers B narrowly saw off Croft B in a 3-2 victory. Callum Marson scored a hat-trick for Rangers.

Ferndale Rodbourne A beat Shaw 2-1. Kieran Dodson and James White put the hosts two up, and despite a late strike Shaw were unable to recover.

Under 10 Division Three

A late goal from Michael Uzzell gave Highworth Town T some consolation after a disappointing start to the season resulted in a 6-1 loss to Liden.

Under 10 Division Four

Joseph Webb scored two as Chiseldon lost 5-2 to Swindon Supermarine, for whom a Ryan Pearce hat-trick was the highlight.

Under 9 Division One

FERNDALE Rodbourne came out 6-2 winners against Stratton. With the match locked at 2-2 at half time, Ferndale came out stronger in the second period and romped to victory.

Highworth Town Juniors H and Robins A played out an exciting both 3-3 draw. Robins took a 2-0 lead early on but Highworth battled back for a share of the points.

Shaw A came out well on top against Greenmeadow Youth with a 10-1 victory.

Under 9 Division Two

Swindon Rangers Under 9 B enjoyed their first ever competitive match and marked the occasion with an emphatic 10-0 victory.

Hat-tricks from Jack Smith and Jake Collins and a brace each by Brandon Curtis and Owen Donnan gave Rangers the win.

Under 9 Division Three

Josh Archer grabbed an important second-half hat-trick as FC Chippenham beat Ashton Keynes 9-4. Northern Lights beat Wanborough Juniors 9-2.
