Heat 1: Adams, Richardson, Korneliussen, Ljung, 64.93 (4-2)
Adams gates. Richardson gets round the outside of Korneliussen on bend one lap two.
Heat 2: Gathercole, Risager, Neath, Robson, 67.17 (9-3)
Risager has to sprint back to the pits because the chain comes off his bike just before the start. Stead lends the Dane his bike. It's a super-tight bend one and Neath initially leads early on. Gathercole gets him pretty quickly and Risager sweeps past as well, then Robson retires at the start of lap three.
Heat 3: Ljung, Zengota, Janowski, Nieminen, 66.86 (12-6)
From the gate.
Heat 4 (re-run): Stead, Shields, Risager, Robson (R), 66.93 (16-8)
Shields falls at the first bend and it's all four back. He leads the re-run but Stead zips past him on the straight midway through.
Heat 5: Janowski, Richardson, Ljung, Zengota, 66.49 (19-11)
Janowski gets off to a flyer and then produces a fantastic ride to keep Richardson out.
Heat 6 (re-run, unsatisfactory start): Adams, Neath, Korneliussen, Shields (R), 66.36 (23-13)
Adams leads in from the front. Korneliussen powers round the outside of Shields on lap two bend four. Shields retires from the race a lap later.
Heat 7 (re-run x2): Stead, Nieminen, Gathercole (FX), Robson (FX), 67.09 (26-15)
Robson crashes on lap two when third and it's a re-run with him excluded. On the re-run Gathercole is pushing Nieminen and is forced wide at the start of lap two, before smashing into the air fence. Gathercole is excluded. It's a slow start to the third staging but Stead beats Nieminen out of the gate.
Heat 8: Ljung (tac), Risager, Neath, Korneliussen, 67.34 (28-22)
The tactical works for the Hammers. Korneliussen falls on bend three but remounts to complete the race. Risager prevents the 8-1 maximum with a decent ride.
Heat 9: Zengota, Janowski, Shields, Robson (R), 66.71 (33-23)
Zengota exchanges places a couple of times with Shields in the first lap, with the Pole coming out on top. Janowski then does his bit towards the maximum by edging past Shields at the end of lap two.
Heat 10: Adams, Shields, Korneliussen, Nieminen, 67.08 (37-25)
Adams and Shields are neck and neck at the start but Adams just has the run on the Lakeside man on the back straight on the outside.
Heat 11: Richardson (tac), Stead, Ljung, Gathercole, 66.05 (39-32)
Ljung leads from the off and Richardson goes wide to pass Stead. Ljung lets Richardson through on lap two but Stead then flashes past him.
Heat 12: Nieminen, Zengota, Risager, Neath, 66.93 (42-35)
A straightforward win for Nieminen.
Heat 13: Richardson, Adams, Stead, Shields, 66.92 (45-38)
Richardson and Adams are very close coming out of bend two but it's the former that pulls ahead. After that the order shows little sign of changing.
Heat 14: Janowski, Nieminen, Neath, Gathercole (Frem), 68.09 (48-41)
Great gate from Janowski. Gathercole falls on the fourth bend of lap two but remounts to finish the heat.
Heat 15 (re-run): Richardson, Adams, Stead, Ljung (FX), 67.27 (51-44)
Ljung crashes into the air fence at the first bend of lap two and is excluded. Stead gates in the re-run but his rivals streak past on the back straight. Richardson gets past Adams wide on bend four lap one.
