JOINT boss Matt Robinson admitted the intervention of the weather may have helped Supermarine out in their battle for Southern Premier survival.
The Webb's Wood side had just one fit striker for Saturday's hugely-important league clash at home to Redditch, before the cold snap ensured the game was called off.
That meant forward Max Etheridge's scheduled late fitness test did not go ahead and the squad instead went for a run before having a gym session at Next Generation.
“Ideally you want two fit strikers and I'm not sure Max would have made it,” said Robinson.
“He trained but he said he was a little bit tight, so it could have been too early for him.
“Hopefully he will be fit for next week and we'll have Nick Stanley back then, and maybe Steve Cook as well.”
Although Marine were short on numbers up top, Robinson revealed he was disappointed the game was called off as it meant they could not build on their 4-3 victory over Evesham last Saturday.
He said: “I wouldn't say we were praying for a call-off because we played well last week and we wanted to keep the momentum going.
“We had a couple missing which we were obviously wary of, as we want to play every game with a full-strength squad.
“At least the postponement gives us the chance to get everyone back and available for the next game.”
Meanwhile, Chippenham boss Adie Mings is hoping to bolster his injury-hit squad by recruiting a new face today.
The Bluebirds had as many as nine first-team regulars struggling with injuries ahead of Saturday's postponed meeting with Bashley, which has been rescheduled for tomorrow.
And Mings is keen to cover for those absences, saying: “We're working on getting someone in and hopefully that can be done on Monday.
“It'll be a permanent signing and someone we think can add to the squad."
Cirencester also found themselves without a game as their trip to Weymouth fell foul of the weather.
