RUGBY: Sutton Benger 5 Bradford on Avon 43

10:30am Wednesday 18th April 2012

BRADFORD finished their season in seventh heaven as they put Benger to the sword.

The seven-try romp was the club’s seventh league win on the trot as they finished fourth in the table.

After weathering early pressure, Bradford opened the scoring when Oli Stacey went over from a well worked forward drive off a lineout.

The visitors then scored two well worked tries after some good forward phases and slick handling.

Harry Bradley scored a trademark try, with several hand offs from 50 metres and Matt Edwards converted.

Andy Kehoe then went under the posts, following good forward pressure, Edwards again adding the extras.

Benger replied with a well-worked try in the corner before Joe Awdry cut a great line and went in from 30 metres again for Edwards to convert.

Bradford with a fifth try from Bradley who outpaced the defence to touch down in the corner.

Benger’s strong defence denied Bradford further scores for the first part of the second half before Sam Awdry went over following a great break from Kehoe, for his first try of the season.

Joe Awdry completed the scoring, capitalising on a poor clearance kick to jink his way over in the corner.
