MELKSHAM Town face a tough test on their return to the Toolstation League Premier Division with a trip to Willand Rovers tomorrow.

Dave Clayton’s side, who clinched promotion from the First Division last season, travel to Devon to take on a side who have been in the top five for the last five seasons.

Melksham have seen defenders Luke Smith, Matt Cooper and Jamie Oliver depart this summer but former manager Adam Young has returned, alongside midfielder Nathan Flower.

“It’s going to be tough but we’re going to carry on doing what we do and trying to play the same kind of football that did us so well last year,” said Clayton.

“It’s a tough start but you’ve got to play everyone at some point.”

Corsham Town are back in the First Division after relegation but Trevor Rawlings’ squad boast a new strength in depth after the returns of Dan King, Ross Lye, Jamie Moss, Darrin Moss and Craig Gingell, as well as the signing of Rich Holton.

They start their season at home to Shrewton United.

Tomorrow also sees the start of a new chapter for Warminster Town, who have moved across to the First Division from the Wessex League and will be guided by new manager Adam Collington.

The likes of Jordan Mathews, Derek Wheeler, Ben Bicknell and Kurt Hammonds could all feature as Warminster host Roman Glass St George.

Bradford Town, who have made a host of signings in the closed season, are looking to start their campaign with a win for the first time under boss Paul Shanley when they kick off at home to Portishead Town.

Sam Gooding’s Westbury United start with a trip into the unknown to take on one of the league’s new sides, Bristol-based outfit Cribbs Friends Life, and have added Nathan Hallett, Lewis Porter and Ryan Baggs to their squad.

FROME Town have been named as the FA Charter Standard Regional Community Club of the Year for 2012.

Town, who earlier clinched the Somerset FA award, received the regional award for their work in the community, including raising more than £27,000 to support ground improvements for their adult teams and their work at youth football level.
