Devizes Town failed to build on their thrashing of Wellington last weekend as they were brought down to earth with a bang by Portishead Town.
Ryan Welland was on target for Mark Love's men but they were well-beaten at Nursteed Road.
Devizes are at home again this weekend when they host Elmore.
