DAVE Turner is certain there is no way his Wootton Bassett Town team can feel like losers after their FA Cup tie this weekend.

Bassett travel to Conference South giants Dorchester Town after reaching second round qualifying for the first time.

Turner says that everyone at the Rylands Way club is full of excitement ahead of their trip to Dorchester’s 5,000 capacity Avenue Stadium and the Bassett boss said: “A few of my players were at Highworth when they played against Salisbury and that’s the closest they’ve been to taking on a Conference South side.

“For a lot of them, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity but I also think that I’ll learn a lot more about my players – some of them won’t be able to handle the pressure and some will thrive.

“But the place is absolutely buzzing at the moment and I’m sure it will be a fantastic day out for this football club.

“We’ve got a 60-seater coach booked and we’ll all be getting together for breakfast beforehand to enjoy it as much as we can.

“Whatever happens in the game, there’s no way that we can lose on Saturday.”

Last weekend, Bassett suffered their first league defeat of the season as they were undone at Clanfield.

Jamie Butt put the hosts ahead and Lee Bowen levelled for Turner’s men but Chris Blakely’s wonder goal and Mark Odom rounded off the scoring.

Shaun Terry misses the trip to Dorchester through suspension while Mark Barnes is an injury doubt.
