SWINDON will take a bumper lead to the Abbey Stadium after an emphatic first leg play-off victory at Birmingham.

A lightning start put the Robins 10 points up within four races, before a late surge saw them increase their advantage to an impressive twenty by the close.

Peter Kildemand bagged a tremendous 14+1 paid maximum to lead the charge, whilst Aussie Troy Batchelor also starred with 13+1.

Hans Andersen, Jason Doyle and Nick Morris all backed them up tremendously to form a formidable main body, whilst Dakota North added a crucial contribution as a late replacement for Dawid Lampart at reserve.

Team boss Alun Rossiter said: “What an outstanding performance. It was a great display, very professional, but it is still only half the job done.

“Peter Kildemand was fantastic and the same goes for Troy Batchelor and Jason Doyle. All of the boys were just outstanding.”

High-flying Robins now host the Midlands outfit on Thursday as they look to book a Grand Final spot against Poole Pirates, who wrapped up an aggregate win over Lakeside on Monday.

The Swindon management have announced a drop in admission prices for Thursday's meeting against the Brummies with prices as follows: Adults £10, Concessions £5, Juniors/Season Ticket Holders Free.
