SHAUN Lamb’s second spell at Chippenham Town has come to an end after he parted ways with the club this week.

The left-back rejoined the Bluebirds last summer after ending last season at Western League Bitton but with the arrival of Tyrone Mings last month, Lamb found himself surplus to requirements at Hardenhuish Park.

Chippenham assistant manager revealed that he wasn’t certain of Lamb’s destination but thanked the defender for his service to the Bluebirds.

“We felt that we’ve got Tyrone (Mings) at left-back and Brandon Barnes can play there, so we just thought it would be best if Shaun went and got regular football elsewhere.

“We don’t know where he’s gone yet but at the end of the day, Shaun’s a great lad and a good friend of mine and Nath’s.

“But it was our decision to make and because of the way Tyrone’s playing at the moment, we don’t think it’s fair to keep him on the bench.”
