FULL-TIME: Gloucester City 1 Chippenham Town 0

BATTLING Chippenham Town suffered a heartbreaking exit from the FA Cup as an injury-time goal sent Conference North Gloucester City into the first round proper at Cheltenham Town's Whaddon Road this afternoon.

Nathan Rudge's men were a matter of minutes away from taking their higher-league opponents to a fourth qualifying round replay at Hardenhuish Park when the Tigers struck with the match in injury time.

Town, who had played the majority of the second half with 10 men after the sending-off of Dean Griffiths for two yellow cards were undone as Lewis Hogg's run into the area ended with Darren Edwards turning home his cross.

There was still time for one more chance as home keeper Mike Green nearly spilled Bluebirds' striker Alan Griffin's volley into his own net, but City hung on to claim victory.
