Former Chippenham Town striker James Constable has moved from Shrewsbury Town to Oxford United on a season long loan - his third club in six months.

The 23-year-old signed on yesterday and made an immediate impact, scoring in their 1-0 win at Oxford City.

The frontman has fallen down the pecking order since his January deadline day move from Kidderminster and the departure of manager Gary Peters for Paul Simpson.

The Shrews have also bolstered their frontline with the record purchase of Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt for £170,000 and Ritchie Walker on loan from Bristol Rovers.

Constable's move to the Blue Square Premier side means he has played for Kidderminster, Shrewsbury and Oxford in just six months.

Also moving to the U's is Bristol Rovers' Lewis Haldane, who lives in Chippenham.
