PREVIEW: The Global Village Film Festival, Corsham and surrounding villages.
The seventh Global Village Film Festival begins on March 13 and runs until March 20.
The festival offers eleven films over eight days at venues in Atworth, Box, Biddestone, Corsham, Lacock and Neston.
Oscar Stringer, Festival Chairman, said: “We’re delighted to launch another great line up, bringing you the best of world cinema, including films from France, Italy, Poland, India, Afghanistan and Tibet.” The programme highlights include a Bollywood Night on March 20, starting with a reception with Indian food, drinks and music, and featuring a screening of Devdas, the most expensive Bollywood film ever made. A comedy double bill on March 13, features two charming, off-beat films: from Italy, Mid-August Lunch and from France, Rumba.
Imagine, if you can, the X Factor run by the Taliban: the extraordinary documentary Afghan Star reveals the true story of young Afghans pursuing their dreams of stardom against all the odds.
