Dance down and dirty, or in silence at Bowl

The Silent Disco, a new concept sweeping the UK that does away with the traditional speaker systems used in nightclubs or festivals, comes to the Old Town Bowl in Swindon this summer.

In the first open-air silent event held there, everyone will be issued with wireless headphones to listen to the music, with two DJs playing simultaneously on two separate channels, so you only listen to the music that you want to hear.

If you don’t like the music from the first DJ just flick the switch and listen to the second. You are in control!

If one of the DJs starts to play Michael Jackson next thing you know half the crowd is singing Billie Jean while the other half of the crowd are chanting to Last Night by The Strokes. It’s like nothing you have ever experienced before, not to mention being the perfect way to combat noise pollution while you party. The disco at the Bowl is on June 4, with tickets at £13/£11 cons.

Forget the up-to-the-minute, things go all retro at the Bowl on August 7 for A Night of Dirty Dancing and Bucks Fizz.

Bucks Fizz were one of the most successful groups of the 80s, topping the charts twice after taking the Eurovision title in 1981 with Making Your Mind Up. Bucks Fizz, headed by original member Bobby G, will be performing all of their hits and a lot more as they take the audience back to the 80s.

To get you in to the mood A Night of Dirty Dancing will bring to life one of the biggest and most iconic films of the 80s with a live stage show featuring all your favourite songs and dances from the hit film.

Tickets are £13 for adults, £10 cons and £35 for a family ticket.

Both concerts start at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the Swindon Arts Centre in person or by calling 01793 614837. A £1.50 booking fee applies on all telephone transactions.
