Comic Potential at the Bouverie Hall

Thursday night sees the opening of the latest amateur drama production in Pewsey.

Nettie Powell and Martin Clifton are directing the Alan Ayckbourn comedy Comic Potential at the Bouverie Hall.

The play runs until Saturday and as well as having its tradition box office in the Bouverie Hall PVADS now operates an on-line booking service at www.pvads.com.

It has been a busy month for the drama group with its youth section taking top place in the Five Counties Youth Theatre competition held at Pewsey.

The group of ten-16 year olds competed against youngsters from five neighbouring counties and won the Best Youth Theatre Group award with their one-act play House of Usher by Edgar Alan Poe.

This followed in the wake of their two other recent awards in for Best Youth Performance and Best Dramatic Endeavour in the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival held in Swindon in February.

Youth Theatre Director, Nettie Powell, said "The PVADS Youth have worked so hard to win these awards and it's wonderful that their talents have been recognised.

" These young people are the future of PVADS and everyone in the society feels really proud of their achievements."

Comic Potential that starts its three night run on Thursday is a comedy set in the future where soap actors are replaced by robots, a plot that guarantees lots of fun and laughs, said PVADS spokesman Brad Harris.
