Tipped for the top
Glasvegas are releasing their new single Geraldine next month on Columbia Records, and to promote the record the band are touring the UK and stopping off in Swindon tomorrow. The boys from Oxford have been recording their debut album in New York with producer Rich Costey, who has worked with Franz Ferdinand, Interpol and Muse. Glasvegas are heading for the 12 Bar, Westcott Place. They are also playing at the Glastonbury Festival and are hotly tipped as being the big thing this year.
Kicking off the gig will be local band Attica Seasons and then the four-piece A Silent Film will take to the stage. Robert Stevenson on vocals and piano, Lewis Jones on guitar, Ali Hussain on bass and Spencer Walker on drums will be playing their debut single, Sleeping Pills, and other tracks from their album, The City That Sleeps. A Silent Film were chosen by Emily Eavis and Huw Stephens to play the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury last year and later this month they are supporting Scouting For Girls at the O2 Wireless Weekender. Tickets are £7 advance and £9 on the door. For more details telephone 01793 535713.
