It was with sadness that I read the Adver of 11 April, where on page 4 was an article regarding apologies from the Mayor.
No one has really thought this through, especially Labour Coun Jim Grant, who claims that sorry is not enough. Has he forgotten the famous Gordon Brown, the Labour Leader,living in Downing Street and on national TV calling a woman a bigot? This is double standards?.
I salute you Nick Martin for all the unrewarded things you managed to achieve during your time as mayor. Many charities, people, schools and churches have enjoyed the benefit of your leadership. You stood tall beside me at the Remembrance Day service at Lydiard Park last year to remember the fallen armed forces. You have set a standard of behaviour that will be very difficult to achieve. I salute you sir for all your hard work.
