AS A cyclist it is very noticeable that both cyclists and vehicles do not switch their headlights on during inclement weather.
Over the last few weeks fog, thick in places, has been prevalent in the Trowbridge area, yet vehicles and cyclists seem to think that there is no need to switch on their headlights or cyclists to have any lights on their bikes.
I can think of three reasons what they don’t use their headlights: They don’t know where the headlight switch is, they don’t know the difference between the side light and the headlight logo on the switch, and they think that their energy bill will increase if they use their lights.
Come on road users, in inclement weather, especially fog, switch on your headlights and be seen.
