I HAVE just received a letter from Karen Holton, the neighbourhood housing officer, regarding the parking of cars on the grass verges in the street where I live.
It seems Swindon Council officials will be collecting the registration numbers of cars illegally parked on the grass verges with a view to prosecuting the owners.
I believe my street was built about 50 years ago when car ownership was quite rare. The estate was not designed to cope with such wide car ownership. There are just not enough car parking spaces. Drivers are forced to park on the grass verges by necessity and not choice.
