IN his letter (SA July 15) Mr Nibbs, referred to his previous letter, Drowning In Refugees, saying it was all tongue in cheek.
Was the sentence in which you accused me of shouting down anyone who opposes my views, and the previous letters you have had in the Swindon Advertiser, in which you have criticised other sections in society also tongue in cheek Mr Nibbs?
Why shouldn’t I have taken your letter seriously? If it was tongue in cheek, I find it was in very bad taste. To make cheap and nasty jibes at any charity, especially a local one that does an excellent job in helping people fleeing war, torture, oppression and goodness knows what else, is not clever or funny.
Your letter tells me that you have lost the debate. Furthermore, can the readers of the Swindon Advertiser take your letters seriously any more?
