IF I had £7m I’d open up University of Swindon! Wouldn’t that be beautiful? How many young and elderly people of this town would go to higher education if we had Swindon University?
How many single parents would be attracted by the closer university? How many people would come to this town for pursuing knowledge if we had a university?
How would that be useful to the economy of the town? How many local people would be employed by the potential university?
How many 9-5 workers would enrol in part-time courses in the evening? Imagine that. How long will Swindon town go on without a house of knowledge – a university? Don’t we care about the unborn generation? Haven’t we got the burden of responsibility to educate them well so they can help this town? Send them to Bristol, London and Oxford for higher education – how many will return?
How on earth can Swindon compete with the supposedly well-educated citizens of Bristol and Oxford? The University of Swindon is inevitable. Let’s make it happen.
