RESPONDING to your report and pictures ‘Protectors in call for peace in Gaza’, it was nice to read that so many people of different ages and faith groups gathered as one on the streets of Gorse Hill and Broadgreen in a silent protest at the continuing carnage and slaughter of Palestinians at the hands of Israel.

The Conservative supporting magazine The Spectator reportedly printed an article saying such demonstrations and protests were anti-semitic. What rubbish. There is nothing anti-semitic in protesting and demonstrating against an Israeli government that has killed and maimed over one thousand people of which, at the time of writing, 208 were children and 630 were adults and still the killing and carnage continues. To what end?
