I HOPE all the ‘good riddance to Scotland’ brigade watched the tumultuous cheer from Glasgow as the English team entered the arena at the Commonwealth Games from their Scots cousins. Salmond must have choked on his expenses account, at considerable taxpayers’ expense I believe.

Her Majesty the Queen, God bless her, loves Scotland. For over three centuries England and Scotland have been joined politically as one, not to mention the millions of years geographically.

United we stand, divided we fall, particularly relevant in these tumultuous times.

I know from personal experience at charitable events that the English love a Burns night. I also know from the same yardstick that I and my fellow countrymen love a St Georges night.

I predict that on the day of reckoning Mr Salmond will get more egg on his face than an omelette.
