I RARELY agree with the views of Bill Williams in his regular letters to the paper, so imagine my shock reading his latest letter of July 29 ‘Games an inspiration’. So why am I shocked?
Well, I couldn’t agree more with him on his comments on the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, in which he said the racist, warmongering control freak politicians and religious fanatics should be shown the ceremony to see how people of different colour, cultures, religions and backgrounds do/can get along very well together.
All the billions spent on wars should be spent on impoverished children around the world.
Finally, on a lighter note, it was good to see mention of his little Scottish terrier in the letter. Oh how Mr Williams does bring a smile to my face with his stories on, I’m sure, his much-loved Scottish terrier.
