In reply to Bill Williams (9 September) he is correct to say that the best thing for Britain is that Scotland does not leave, and that we all stay together in the United Kingdom.
But the two major parties have made such a mess of the British economy regarding manufacturing that our faith is shaken that our Westminster parliament can ever sort it out.
Our open borders with the EU have also created such high unemployment and high house prices that it might occur to the young people of Scotland that an independent Scotland could not possibly be any worse. It is not that the Scots want to leave, it is more that draconian policies like the bedroom tax, high unemployment and high house prices have driven the Scots away.
