Guy Green says he completely agrees with my letter saying that if the government extends the life of Parliament beyond its maximum of five years, it will be in effect be carrying out a coup and I am glad that he agrees.
Unfortunately he does not seem to understand my point.
The government seems to have proposed that it should carry on beyond its five year term illegally, depriving us of our right to elect a government.
He confuses this with the government not doing what he considers most Britons want, which he says is to introduce an immigration policy and to leave the EU.
He and all the rest of us had a chance at the last general election to vote for two anti immigration and anti EU parties, the BNP and the UKIP, which we didn’t.
If the government denied us our democratic right to elect Parliament we could not elect anyone and the government would have carried out a coup.
I have, however, contacted my MP Justin Tomlinson and he assures me that he has no knowledge of any such plan.
