It is with a heavy heart that I opened my post to see that the usual letter had arrived inviting us to a production of Stage Struck at the Arts Centre but this one was not like all the rest.

Geoff has informed us all that this will be his last hurrah as writer and producer and Jane his wife as director and choreographer.

After this show we will never again be treated to the hilarious spectacle of him and Ken as the best double act this town has ever seen.

I have good humouredly barracked them on numerous occasions and been put in my place with wonderful put downs from both.

Over the years they have made many of us laugh uproariously.

But that is not the reason for this letter – it is to thank all those involved in each production for the work and effort they put in.

You can feel the love come out of the performers as they interact with the audience and most of all is the joy on the faces of the youngsters each time the audience applauds at one of their acts.

Stage Struck has been a leading light here in Swindon helping young people to start a career in show business and hopefully it will continue for many years to come.

If you wish to see this performance of Cinderella you will need to get tickets fast as I am sure they will sell out. The ticket office number is 01793 840757 So from all of us in the seats that do nothing but gaze in admiration at you all on the stage, thanks once again for making great things happen over the years and all the best to Geoff and Jane in the future.
