Well thank God the referendum regarding Scots Independence is over. And I believe the Scots have made the right decision, not least because I have some very good friends amongst the Scots population both here and north of the Border.
I hope and trust that those who voted ‘no’ used the old adage of; "If it ain’t broke don’t fix it".
It worked well for over 300 years and I feel that by and large it will continue to do so.
Yes, there will need to be changes and alterations to the way things are done but I always felt the Scots are pragmatists who are also a very canny bunch. Yes there was a degree of animosity but during my visits to Scotland I always felt comfortable and didn’t encounter any anti English feeling.
To me it always felt as we were part of a large family.
Most Scots I met at work or socially, were friendly and helpful, certainly no open aggression and certainly more polite than some areas of England.
But let’s hope it’s all over now and we can get reorganised and get things moving toward a better life for all.
We all have now to ensure the Tories are put back in at next year’s election, the reason being obvious.
We can all have our referendum and get ourselves, all of us, out of Europe and away from Brussels. Pay no more silly money to be part of a club.
That will mean more money for the Scots, Welsh and folk from Northern Ireland. There just might be a little in it for the English as well.
So let’s put all the arguing behind us and start to put the Great back into Britain.
